ASM Account Help and FAQ
Want to join, renew, change your email or manage your profile? Below you’ll find information to help you with your account, membership, and more. It is important that there is only one account/email on file for each person. This not only helps our data management but also helps you so that payments, membership benefits, questions, your contact data and more all are related to that one account.

ASM Account & Profile
Your Account – Login to the ASM website using your username and password from any page or go here. Once logged in, click “My Profile” from the menu and you can view your ASM online account profile. You’ll see these sections:
- My Memberships – If you have an active or expired membership, it will display here. You can renew or change membership levels from here. If you are in a level with recurring automated payments the expiration date will show as “never” since it is considered on-going. If you haven’t been a member for several years, your account will be visible but your older history won’t display.
- My Account – This displays your username and email. You can change your password, email address or edit/view the rest of your profile. Your profile contains information such as your business address data, license data, your chosen specialties, photo, and more. You can update any contact data as needed. If you are in a professional membership level, your business data will be searchable in the Find An Acupuncturist tool on the site.
- Usernames: Please note that usernames cannot be changed. If yours is an email address and you change your email address, your username remains the older email address.
- Past Invoices – This section shows any invoices for membership, the amount and status (paid or unpaid).
What If I Don’t Know My Username or Password? – Email us and we can assist you in determining if you have an account and provide you with your username. Other suggestions: Your username might be your email address (typically the one where you receive updates/emails from the ASM) or something you created. Some of our eNewsletters display your username to help with this. You can enter your username and ask for a password reset.
How Do I Know If My Membership is Active?
Login to the site using your username and password. Click “My Profile” from the menu bar
As noted above, once logged in you will be able to see if your membership is active, expired or simply left blank if there is no history.
How Do I Renew?
Tip: Login to your account before you renew so that your history and data will sync together.
- If you are logged in already, you can renew from your profile page
- Otherwise go to www.acusocietyma.org/membership-account/join/ and select a membership level.
- Click “login here” and provide your USERNAME and PASSWORD
- Make your payment securely online (unless you are a student)
- You will receive an automated email informing you of your successful renewal
- You can also follow the instructions above to see if your membership is active by viewing your profile
How Do I Join?
You can join the ASM easily using our secure and simple online process. If you have a username and password, we suggest that you follow the directions above for renewing so that your history and contact data will all merge together (you can update it during the process if needed). If you don’t have a username and password, follow these steps to create a new account:
- Go to www.acusocietyma.org/membership-account/join/ and select a membership level
- Fill out the form with your contact data to begin a new account
- Make your payment securely online (unless you are a student)
- You will receive an automated email informing you of your successful renewal
- You can also follow the instructions above to see if your membership is active by viewing your profile
Payment FAQ
How Do Recurring Payments Work? Several levels have recurring payments (annual or quarterly). This means that once you’ve paid online with your credit card, PayPal holds that data and will re-bill you based on the rules of your membership level. They will continue so long as your credit card is active.
If the card expires or is cancelled, the next payment will not go through.
When your membership has recurring payments active, your expiration date will be “never” or blank.
How Do I Change the Credit Card For My Payments? When you checkout and use a credit card, your financial data is processed securely via PayPal. The ASM does not see or store any of your payment data. Our software simply receives confirmation that the card has been charged and updates your account. If you need to change your card for any reason, currently you will manage that from the PayPal end. One option is that you can login to your Paypal account and change the payment options. This typically keeps your recurring payments active. The other option is to contact us at and we can help you cancel the current card and your recurring payment setup. With this option you will need to “renew” manually then or when your membership is up. This will enable you to add a new card during checkout.
